Your next step in this process would be to remove the old faucet. To do this, you need to shut off your water supply either under the sink or on the main water supply valve. The hot and cold water pipes have to be solved. At the faucet stem, loosen and remove the nut with a wrench or pipe wrench basin cock. To remove the faucet now all you have to do, then remove the nut holding the faucet in the sink. The faucet should lift off.
Chrome-plated brass hardware can start to decay after time so you may wish to change these too. A bucket should be placed under the drain to contain excess water into the drain. A new stopper may come with your new faucet. If this is the case, you may want to change too. This gives you a consistent appearance on your new design.
You have to wrap your faucet stems with a thread sealer. Before inserting the faucet stems into the correct holes install the rubber seal on the underside of the valve. Do not worry if your tap does not come with a rubber gasket. A pearl of caulk will do the trick. If the water taps in the position, you can thread the washer, nut and mounting nut on the faucet tailpiece.
Now you can add your supply pipes to the faucet stems. Be sure to apply thread sealer to the shut-off valve threads. Tighten the nuts is on the delivery. Be careful not to greatly tighten the nuts. Close is the hot and cold water supply.
You are now ready to clean the supply tubes to your new faucet. You must remove the aerator from the faucet. Now turn on the water. You need to check for leaks while the water is running.
